How it works

  1. Tell us the trip. Destination, dates, level, lodging, group size, and terrain. Every U.S. and Canadian national park is built in, or enter your own.
  2. We build the plan. Reading and gear come from the season, terrain, and level you chose. A November trip gets different shelter and sleep gear than the same route in July.
  3. Tick what you own. Work down the gear list marking what you already have. Ticks are saved as you go, and stay current as you acquire the rest.
  4. Leave word. Automatically send the plan and your expected return time to a trusted contact, with an alert in their calendar for when you are due back.
  5. Then pack. Save the plan to a free account and the gear you own becomes a packing list for your phone, plus anything you add yourself. No password required.
